Those who know me are
aware that I enjoy a good massage and over the years I have tried out many. I
started going to the three local schools, to their "student clinics", and have
had very good massages and very bad massages. The prices at the student clinics are
generally reasonable, with Heritage starting at $25.00 for a 50 minute massage (since have
increased to $30.00 for the same), P.C.I. offers 50 minutes for $30.00 and 90 minutes for
$40.00, and M.T.T.I. (now Wellspring) that went from $25.00 for a 50 minute and $40.00 for
a 90 minute to $30.00 for a 50 minute and $60.00 for a 90 minute massage. Now and then I would ask a student who mentioned that she was graduating whether she planned on offering her services individually. Several gave me their cards but only two, from M.T.T.I., did I follow up with and made repeat appointments with them both. Most recently, because of the KCRewards program and Groupon, I've been fortunate to experience some other Massage Therapists and have become a regular client of one as a result. The following are the business cards to several local Massage Therapists (local being the greater Kansas City area). Also are my ratings for each with a rating of one meaning I won't ever go back and five meaning she gives a top notch massage for a reasonable price. I've been to other massage therapists over the years, too, but have misplaced their business cards or contact information. As you'll see, I have my favorites. None are aware of me posting this web page, so you may be the first to tell them "Gabby sent you!" Enjoy, |

Comments: Found her on
KCRewards.com and booked a 60 minute massage. After the appointment I asked about
pricing for another massage close to what she offered through the KCRewards program.
We negotiated a 90-minute massage (full 90 minutes) and now I go back weekly or 3
times per month because that's how good she makes me feel. |

Comments: I met Cheryl at M.T.T.I. on her last day and asked about her future plans for massage therapy. She gave me her business card and I began making monthly appointments. She gives a top notch massage! I used to give my wife Cheryl's gift certificates for her birthday, mother's day, etc.

Comments: I met Christina at M.T.T.I also. During the student massage she mentioned going into business for herself and gave me her phone number. I began going monthly and booked appointments for both myself and my wife. She may have relocated since our last appointments, though, so call for current information.

Comments: I've had some very good massages and some very poor massages from the students at M.T.T.I. over the years. I've been going there for over 6 years. When their 90 minute massages were $50, I went bi-weekly, but they went to $60, so I stopped. They wouldn't allow me to book two 50-minute massages back-to-back for the same money!

Comments: Heritage was the first of the student clinics I patronized going back 6 or 7 years. It seems to me that their tuition must be less because of the students they've accepted, and the quality of the massages has been less than those given by students at M.T.T.I. over the years. But they're reasonably priced compared to individuals on their own.

Comments: I found Pinnacle on the Internet when I couldn't get into M.T.T.I. or Heritage because they were booked up. I liked their 90-minute massage price and went there monthly for quite awhile. The last couple times were disappointing, though, so I haven't been back for several months.

Comments: I made an appointment because of the sign in front of the hair stylist building she worked at. It was a typical massage at a higher price that what I was paying at the schools, but there wasn't anything about the massage that made we want to go back. She's no longer at that address but the phone number might still be good, or look her up on the Internet.

Comments: This was through one of the Groupon-type offerings. Nothing special with the massage, but the price was right at the time. Her regular price is typical of independent massage therapists in this area.

Comments: A "free" massage was given with a "welcome wagon" package and passed on to me. A typical massage from a typical high priced chain. No reason to pay their prices when there are better available.
